the lja mission

The LJA (Lake Jacksonville Association) is a non-profit corporation created in 1996 to represent the interests of residents on the lake. While some of us own our land, most of us lease our home sites from the City of Jacksonville, our landlord.

The purpose for which this Corporation is organized is:

  • to promote and protect the interest of the members;

  • to serve as an advisory resource to all governmental agencies regulating the Lake Jacksonville properties;

  • to conduct various lawful activities for the benefit of the leaseholders; to discuss with the landlord all matters pertinent to leaseholders' interest, whether contained in lease agreements or otherwise;

  • to assist the landlord in enforcement of lease provisions; and

  • to generally promote and enhance the Lake Jacksonville area and leased grounds, and to provide such services as deemed lawful and necessary to that end.
